Welcome to the Cardinham & District Gardening Club website. We are a group of some sixty gardening enthusiasts living in or around the village of Cardinham on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall

Next Meeting: Monday, March 13th, Cardinham Parish Hall, 7.30pm

Dear Members

We have had to arrange another speaker as Suzanne from the Plant Shop at Wadebridge is now unable to make that date.

We are fortunate that David Ramsden MBE has agreed to give us a talk on behalf of the Barn Owl Trust. David is head of conservation and received his MBE for services to Wildlife. He will be giving a talk on barn owls with slides, so do come along. The talk is titled ‘Restoring the Balance’. I think it will be a very interesting talk and if you know of anyone not in the club who would appreciate this subject, please let them know. He is coming from Ashburton, so, a fair way for an evening talk.

Good to see the snowdrops and the daffs, but, oh dear! still so cold.

The annual social was enjoyed by all. In the words of Lizzy and Simon Smart: “What a delightful evening we had in Bernie & Sue Muir’s lovely extensive garden, so kind of them to host the Garden Club’s Summer Party. It was so good to meet up with friends & make new acquaintances. Here’s the photos I took” – see below.

Visit to Trebartha: on October 10th some members enjoyed a glorious outing to Trebartha Estate Garden and Country Garden at Lemarne. These two gardens on the North east edge of Bodmin were open in aid of the National Garden Scheme. Richard and Linda Brice took the photos.
